Haris Ioannou Boyiadjis was born in Famagusta in 1960.
After graduating from Kykkos High School for Boys and upon serving his military service as a Reserve Second Lieutenant in the Infantry and Military Police, he went to study at the University of Exeter, England where, he received his LLB (Hons) degree in 1984.
He returned to Cyprus, where he practiced law until January 8, 1995.
He was appointed as District Judge, on January 9th 1995, and was promoted to Senior District Judge in September, 2003 and to President of District Court in September, 2009.
Between the years 1998-2004 he served as Lecturer and Examiner of the Cyprus Legal Council, on the subject of Immovable Property Law and Wills and Succession Law.
In May 2020, at his own request, he retired prematurely from the Judicial Service, while from August, 2020, until May 3, 2022 he worked with a private law firm as a Special Counsel.
For the period January – July, 2021, he served as President of the Inquiry Committee in connection with CYPRA Slaughterhouse.
For the period February, 2021 – May, 2022, he served as President of the Committee of Ethics and Safeguarding in Sports, while at the same time he was a member of the Board of Directors of Hydra Insurance Company Ltd.
On July 8, 2022, he was appointed Commissioner for Transparency at the Independent Authority against Corruption.
He is the father of an adult daughter.
