Dr Hadjigeorgiou is an Assistant Professor in Transitional Justice and Human Rights, and the Deputy Head of the School of Law at UCLan Cyprus. She received her LLB with Distinction from University College London, her LLM from the University of Cambridge, and her PhD from King’s College London. Dr Hadjigeorgiou’s research focuses on the protection of human rights in ethnically divided societies and is the author of the monograph Protecting Human Rights and Building Peace in Post-violence Societies. The monograph, which received the Constantinos Emilianides Annual Book Award in Law for 2020, focuses on the protection of human rights in Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland and South Africa. In 2024, Dr Hadjigeorgiou received the Social Action Award 2024 from the British Council for the social impact of her work.
