ELLI KODJAMANI
News Director of ANT1 Cyprus, since February 2010, and with more than three decades of experience as a journalist in the media field of Cyprus. She leads the News Department of ANT1 TV and the online ant1Live and is responsible for all news bulletins and current programs.
With origins from the occupied Morphou, one of five children in her family, and with studies in Journalism as well as Greek Philology, she has managed to fulfill her dream of becoming a journalist, covering major international events, such as the 2004 tsunami in South-Eastern Asia, and interviewing history-makers and world known political figures such as Yasser Arafat and Benjamin Netanyahu. Her interviews, documentaries and political talk shows have given her high recognition among the public.
Both as a professional and as an activist, she deals intensively with issues of ethics in journalism, intellectual rights, human rights, gender equality.
In October 2020, she was elected Chairwoman of the Cyprus Media Ethics Committee and has since dealt intensively with matters of Media freedom, Media legislation, transparency and the rights and safety of journalists.
For more than twenty years, she collaborates with the Department of Journalism of KES College Cyprus, in teaching and training students in various Journalism subjects.
