Aphrodite Papachristodoulou

Dr Aphrodite Papachristodoulou is Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, School of Law, University of Galway. She is also Committee Member of the International Law Association ‘Protection of People at Sea’ and Research Affiliate to the Refugee Law Initiative, School of Advanced Study, University of London. Dr Papachristodoulou is a licensed lawyer and engages in strategic human rights litigation. Her principal research interests include international human rights law, law of the sea, migration and border technologies.
In addition to her academic and legal work, she advises and engages with the media on migration issues and is recognized as an expert in international maritime and human rights law. Dr. Papachristodoulou has taught human rights law at various universities in Ireland and has delivered guest lectures and seminars in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States.
