Maria Erotokritou
Maria Erotokritou, 18, is a youth advocate for social justice and the Cyprus reunification process from Limassol. Since the age of 15, she has taken an active role in civil society to promote youth inclusion in decision-making and active citizenship.
Maria has facilitated and moderated workshops and trainings for youth with the Cyprus Youth Council and at the EU-UWC Leadership Forum. She is also the co-founder of United Youth of Cyprus, an initiative dedicated to bringing together individuals from all communities of Cyprus to work collaboratively toward healing and uniting their divided homeland through the efforts of youth.
In addition to her initiatives, Maria has participated in several projects, short courses, workshops, and seminars that have strengthened her knowledge and skills in peacebuilding, youth engagement, and social justice, including her involvement in the previously EU-funded project Purple Lotus, which promotes gender equality. Maria also serves as one of the EU Youth Dialogue Ambassadors at the Cyprus Youth Council.
Through these experiences, Maria continues to work towards a more united, inclusive, and peaceful Cyprus.
